I have known Professor Jay Dizon for over thirteen years. During that time, I have seen him grow as a martial artist and develop unique style of FMA. Although we met at ESKABO Daan, we have also shared a background in Tai chi and Aikido. Because of that, he has trained me at a level that's beyond FMA. As his student, he’s able to use my past martial arts experience to deepen my FMA training. As an instructor myself, I know it rare to find a teacher that resonates well with his students. Professor Jay is one of those rare finds. Beyond teaching me FMA, we’ve delved into philosophy and life. Prof. Jay works body, mind, and soul.

Want to learn how to defend yourself? Want to learn Filipino Martial Arts? Want to learn more than just the physical techniques? Professor Jay Dizon is the teacher who can deliver all this and more. Four years ago, Professor Jay started to teach me the basics of Filipino Martial Arts. His classes were packed with technical information, Filipino historical/cultural context, and his own brand of humor. In every class, I learned a new way to either defend myself, disarm an attacker, apply a lock or to takedown a person. I left every class feeling more confident in my growing skills and feeling a little bit more in touch with my Filipino heritage. Want the same for yourself? Then try a class with Professor Jay.

Professor Jay has been a strong influence in my understanding of Filipino Martial Arts from the moment we first met. His guidance and teachings have helped me to learn the basics of reactionary combative movement as well as the more advanced concepts which are integral to a deeper understanding of the art.
Learning from Professor Jay provides a perfect balance of physical and educational training. His lessons will keep you challenged and encourage your individual development while you explore all that this art has to offer.

Training with Professor Jay is a thoughtful practice. It's not just your body doing the drills, or your muscles powering through the technique. That's too easy. What Professor Jay offers is a deeper understanding into Filipino Martial Arts and into the way your body moves and how energy flows, so your mind is just as engaged as your body. He's a wonderful instructor for those willing to put their whole self into training.
My journey in Filipino Martial Arts wouldn't have been the same without Professor Jay's wisdom and support these past seven years. Not content to let me sit in my comfort zone, he always found a way to gently nudge me past it. That's what he does: he helps students reach their full potential.
